WHO AM I

Hi, I'm Helle

I'm a professional Ballroom dancer, coach, adjudicator, and educator with over 30 years of teaching experience spanning all levels—from social dancers and competitive athletes to wedding couples.

I began dancing at age three in Denmark and moved to London in 1990 to train with some of the world's most renowned coaches in the ballroom dance community. As a competitive dancer in International Latin, I represented Denmark at the World and European Championships, earning top titles as both an Amateur and Professional competitor.

After owning and operating two successful dance studios—Extreme Dancesport and QBallroom—for 17 years, I transitioned to international coaching and adjudication. Today, I travel worldwide to teach, coach, and judge competitions while organizing two nationally recognized events: the Boca Ballroom Dancesport Competition in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and the Commonwealth Classic in Burlington, MA. I also serve as a coach for the Boston University Ballroom Dance Team.

MISSION

My mission is simple. Teach dance and advocate movement to the world. Dancing doesn’t have to be hard. It should be simple and fun for all to enjoy. Sure we can get serious and become very competitive but we always come back to “why” we do this in the first place. We just love to dance.

STUDIO

I teach in several local studios in the greater Boston area. You can catch me in Cambridge, Waltham, Concord, and surrounding areas. All bookings done via the online schedule are located at Balera Ballroom Studio located at 105 Rumford Ave, Auburndale (map). Inquire for other locations.
